Deck Restoration
The homeowners loved their large backyard layout, but their existing 15-year-old pressure-treated deck had become a safety hazard. Splintering boards, loose railings, and a few “soft spots” in the floor made the space unusable for their young children. They wanted a solution that looked brand new but didn’t require the complete demolition of the existing frame, which was still structurally sound.
Anchor & Beam executed a complete structural restoration and resurfacing. We carefully removed the old decking and railing, then reinforced the existing pressure-treated frame. We applied specialized joist tape to prevent future rot and installed Trex Transcend composite decking with hidden fasteners for a smooth, splinter-free finish. The result is a stunning, maintenance-free outdoor living space that requires no annual staining or sealing.

Hidden Strength: The Restoration Process
Restoration is about more than just new surface boards. Our inspection revealed that the ledger board (where the deck meets the house) lacked proper flashing, posing a risk of water damage to the home’s rim joist. We corrected this immediately. We also installed mid-span blocking to stiffen the frame, ensuring the new composite deck feels solid and has zero “bounce” when walked on.
